My bunkie must have some mental health concerns because his train of thought is tough to keep up with sometimes. He loves to talk and wants to engage me whenever he does talk, although talking to himself is something I’ve noticed he’s capable of as well. It’s a real challenge to be deep in a book and constantly be interrupted by someone wanting to get your opinion on the war between the pepper packets and the salt packets. The conversations can sometimes last hours.
More than a difficult daily dose of my bunkie, I am starting to realize that KDOC is really far behind on keeping people informed about what to do and when to do it. Since being sentenced, I have had little to no information given to me about facility rules, the things that I need to do or don’t do at any point. I am finding that this is true for those on the outside as well. My wife sent yet another letter that was held because of information pertaining to my children being mentioned. Having looked through the IMPP, I see that there are additional restrictions on communications because I am a sex offender but none of that information has been spelled out to myself or my wife. How are we supposed to know?
Now, for some reason, we were given 45 minutes today for the dayroom. WOW… I don’t even know what to say. I was able to shower, and had time to call both my wife and my folks. It’s truly sad when an extra 15 minutes out of your cell can seem like a privilege.
