While I was sending a message to my wife, I received a notification that I had received a message from another contact. It was one of our neighbor friends and she was reaching out to see how I was doing. It was so amazing to hear from someone else outside my immediate family. The good news didn’t stop there either, I was given the approval on one of my best friend’s phone numbers to make calls to him and received another message from a close friend and colleague that have known and worked with for years.
This flurry of support marks a very significant step for me. I now feel like I have some actual people out there that are taking the time to check on me and see how I am doing. I was always so concerned about others and never willing to allow others to have concern for me that this is a bit of a shock to my system. It feel good though to know people are wanting to be there for me and for my family throughout these extremely difficult times. I hope I can do something to pay forward all the generosity that has been given to us. Thank you to all of you who have stood by me and still consider me a friend. I’m not sure how, but I hope you know that I will always remain in your debt and will consider you all friends for life.
